Every marriage needs a little fantasy to keep it sparkling. But behind the gingham curtains, being a domestic goddess isn’t as easy as it looks…

Home, I’m Darling is Laura Wade’s new dark comedy about sex, cake and the quest to be the perfect 1950s housewife.

Characters:

Judy – playing age: 30s-40s
A traditional 1950’s style housewife, married to Johnny.

Johnny – playing age: 30s-40s
A supportive husband of Judy, Real estate agent.

Fran – Playing age: 30s-40s
Judy’s friend, married to Marcus. Fran is creative and interested in the 1950s lifestyle, but a realist; less inclined to nostalgia.

Marcus – playing age: 40s-50s
Fran’s husband, a traditionally minded man.

Sylvia – playing age: 60s-70s
Feminist mother of Judy, confused by her daughter’s choices. Mother of the earth style. A floaty realist.

Alex – playing age: late 20s – late 30s
Johnny’s younger boss- stylish, sharp, decisive and unapologetic.

Audition Information

Audition Dates: April 6 6-9pm & 7^th 7.30-10.30pm

Accent: Hertfordshire/ London

Performances: Wednesday to Saturday 8pm and Sunday Matinee 2pm

Rehearsals: Tuesday & Thursday 7.30- 10.30 & Sunday 2-5pm.
